What is Market Cap?

Market Cap = current share price × total number of shares. It tells you the total market value of a company.

Bigger market cap usually means a bigger, more established company (Reliance is ₹17+ Lakh Crore — a giant).

Smaller market caps can grow faster but also carry more risk. Beginners usually start with large-cap stocks.

It's the fastest way to gauge 'how big is this company, really?'
